Meridian Implement opened on April Fools Day in 1966, by three local industrialists, who documented the idea on a cocktail napkin over lunch. Dennis Gearhart was originally the John Deere Territory man who called on Meridian Implement, and accepted a position as the Manager at Meridian Implement effective July 4th, 1971. The owners saw in Dennis a can-do attitude and a keen business sense, and approached him with an offer to first manage, and later buy, the Dealership.

Located on the far west side of Rockford, Illinois, near the small town of Winnebago, Meridian Implement has been keeping the farm running since 1966, serving local farmers and homeowners in our region. As we’ve grown over the past 5 decades, we now have customers throughout the Midwest and North America, as well as the customers in our own “backyard”.
